Two minutes from the station
In someplace else
Just then I saw you
The woman of my dreams
Like a thief in the night, you left my sight
Where do I begin?
I’m this stranger in love
I’m just a stranger in love
Walk the streets of this town, tonight I won’t be let down
I’m a stranger in Love
Sway down Eddies past Rosie’s
The Victory’s in sight
Half past ten I found you
This has to be my time
There was a band playing 500 Miles
I’d walk all that for you
I’m this stranger in love
I’m just a stranger in love
Walk the streets of this town, tonight I won’t be let down
I’m a stranger in love
Tonight… I want.. Your love
Could… This love… be true?
Walk the streets of this town, tonight I won’t be let down
I’m a stranger in love
Climb Charlotte to the Manor
We made it there in time
So official at the Treasury
My engine’s running dry
Spin the wheel to seal the deal
I’m about to make you mine
I’m, this stranger in love
I’m just a stranger in love
Walk the streets of this town, Livin’ and Lovin in my home town
I’m a stranger
Walking the streets of my home town, tonight I won’t be let down
I’m a stranger in love
About ‘Strangers In Love’…
Strangers in Love is an ode to Brisbane.
Darren explains “I get really angry and frustrated when all these so called self titled, sophisticated know it all’s, give Brisbane a bad wrap. They try to compare Brisbane to Sydney or Melbourne or New York or London or Paris. Brisbane is Brisbane, it is a unique city. Why can’t these people accept it for what it is, put up with all its flaws and good points, like you have to do when you go anywhere else in the world? No where on earth is perfect, just different. Why do we feel the need to compare ourselves to somewhere else? Why can’t we feel comfortable for who and what we are and the place where we live? Brisbane, I am proud to say, is, just as good as anywhere else in the world. People sing songs about New York, London, L.A., famous rivers and mountains, why don’t we sing songs about Brisbane? We decided to write one”
The story of Strangers in Love is follows a chance sighting of a girl and the pursuit of her around the city. Greg adds “we included local clubs and street names in a very subtle way. The night ends at the casino …why do all big nights seem to end at the casino playing the chocolate wheel!?”
